Highly influential composer and saxophonist Anthony Braxton's Tri-Centric Foundation recently launched the new and improved version of the organization's website. Active as of this month, tricentricfoundation.org has been recognized as one of the most comprehensive websites for any living American composer. New Braxton House Records, the online record label of the Tri-Centric Foundation, has released dozens of new album-length downloads and the 4-CD box set Trillium E (the first studio recording of one of Braxton's operas).

The NEA Jazz Masters Fellowship is the highest honor that our nation bestows on jazz artists. Each year since 1982, the program has elevated to its ranks a select number of living legends who have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of jazz.

Creative flutist/composer Nicole Mitchell performed her new orchestra work with the Chicago Composers Orchestra on December 7th, 2011, at Garfield Park Conservatory. With "Flight for Freedom for Creative Flute and Orchestra," Mitchell straddles contemporary classical music, jazz and creative music in ways she has never done before.
